White Out of Bounds stakes between the 4th and 5th cannot be removed

The white Out of Bounds stakes between the 4th and 5th holes are deemed to be fixed and cannot be removed if they interfere with the lie of the ball, your stance or swing or line of play.   You must play the ball as it lies or take an unplayable under penalty of one stroke.   You may stand out of bounds to play a ball that is within bounds.   The stakes have the same status as a wall or fence defining out of bounds and can never be moved.   If you move an out of bounds stake in error and replace it before you play your shot you cannot escape the penalty of two strokes in stroke play or loss of hole in match play – you are in breach of the rule once you move it.   The replacement of the stake before playing the shot is irrelevant.
