Iomarai an Ghorta (The Famine Ridges)
It’s name comes from potato ridges discovered close to the tees during construction, and which date from the Great Famine of 1845-1847. In the decade preceding those years, a village now vanished, called Corboley Morgan stood about 200 to 300 metres north of the main entrance to the course. It consisted of twenty three callings or huts.
